MSNBC - Raising a Fuss - More on the Myth of the Working poor

MSNBC - Raising a Fuss

I never cease to be amazed or shoced. If anyone out there actually reads this blog, read my previous post on this first:

The woman that pushed the myth of the working poor, has won a $100k award. I wonder who she donates it to?

You are correct. The working poor are a myth. The only working poor I know that are above 22 years old are unskilled workers and day laborers. It is a proven fact that people start out at a minimum wage job, and through experience and time move from job to job, making better money with each move and gaining more experience from each job.
My wife is a prime example of The American Dream. She did not even graduate from high school, having been forced to go to work to help support her financially strapped single mother. Her mother was in school at the time also, working her way through a university and earning her degree. Her mother makes a good living now as a marriage and family counselor and she runs a domestic violence program through the court system.

My wife started working at 16, from job to job, never taking welfare or any other social program. She learned on the job, applied her intelligence and ambition and moved up through the ranks. Last year she made in excess of 300,000 dollars and paid more in taxes than most of the people I know made that year. She is 31 years old BTW.

Now that is the America I talk about, and it is out there for anyone with ambition and intelligence and a great work ethic to grab.

God Bless This Great Country.
