Anytime US military personnel are killed in action (or on duty of any kind) it is a sad occasion. The people of Iraq and the Middle East will owe them a debt they can only repay by living in freedom and peace.

What we are doing in Iraq is not only right, but it is the duty of every freedom loving nation to fight tyranny, terrorism and oppression wherever it tries to take root.

Maybe if some of our European "allies" would contribute to the pursuit of liberty and freedom for the Iraqi people our death toll wouldn't be approaching the highest total dead of the war. Maybe if they weren't interested in protecting their corrupt officials, that made money hand over fist through the oil for food program, protecting their power base by pandering to the emotional liberals, who see doom and defeat around every corner.

Leaders lead. Its what they do. When a cause is right it is the leaders that rally their people behind the cause, and by rallying their people they succeed in their endeavor before they ever commit a resource. Leaders inspire. Leaders lead their people to victory, because the reason is just and right and good.

As I have said before, we are a nation of victors. The spoils of victory are prosperity and peace. Allied with the Iraqi people, (in spite of the weak willed and nuanced crys of assured defeat) we will help them win this victory over the child and woman killing cowards in their midst. Then the Iraqi people will lead the middle east to peace. Because it is the right thng to do.

Those that say war is not the answer never understand the question. They never understand the enemy. Throughout history they have time and time again sought appeasement as an answer, and time and time again they have failed, only to cry for help from a less nuanced country, a country of victors, of saviours.

Peace through victory. God Bless America.

When I read that some people think this way it causes me great concern for the future of this country. The only thing I can figure is that he must be a college student and hopefully will come to realize the truth as he grows up.

Millions of Americans feel that the war in Iraq is both unnecessary and deeply immoral. One estimate of the number of civilians killed in that country due to the American incursion is 100,000

Millions of Americans and others around the world know it is the right thing to do. The UN wouldn't enforce its sanctions and ultimatums. Someone in this world has to be able to stand up to tyrants. The Middle East is a cesspool of fundamentalist oppression tyranny, and poverty. America is reversing that.

Please explain to me again how the tax cuts help only the rich? The tax cuts go to only the people that pay taxes. 50% of this country pays no income tax. That would be the bottom 50% (all of THESE facts are on the IRS webpage). It only makes sense that those that pay the taxes get the cuts. Why should the wealthy pay more taxes than anyone else? Why to we penalize success in this country by forcibly taking more of the earnings of those that succeed?

Also, you may want to be careful who you urge not to pay taxes. For one thing, how do you withhold taxes that are taken out of your check before you get it? All of the people you are asking to support your cause won't be much help in prison. The government takes what it wants at the point of a gun.

Authorities are "negotiating" for this criminals surrender. You have to love this quote:

Why is this even an issue? "Legal Experts" say .."wounded fighter could have posed threat".

If it wasn't one of our soldiers involved in this persecution, it would almost be comical. No kidding the wounded fighter could have posed a threat. Does a wounded dog pose a threat?

The soldier potentially saved the lived of the other men on his team. You can bet that he didn't enjoy shooting the "insurgent" at point blank range in the head. Now we are going to second guess his actions, retrace his steps, and decide on exactly what the right thing to do WOULD have been.

"The right thing to do" was what this soldier did. I am proud we have soldiers like that in our Military.

More people need to be saying this so this contrived Elitism will go away. Oh, and btw, for all of the people crying about how the "Right Wing Christians" are responsible for Bush's victory? Time Magazine has info in it which states that:

A Democratic pollster shows that the percentage of voters in 2004 who attend church regularly was 42%. That's exactly the same as the percentage who voted in 2000.

So it wasn't the God Squad that nailed the Dems. It was the leader they chose, his message, and the overall message of the Democratic platform. There is nothing wrong with holding differing views. Just understand that when your views aren't held by the majority of Americans, it might be a good time to reevaluate the premises your views are based upon.

Return favors? RETURN FAVORS? How about returning the favor of liberating your sorry country from the murdering Nazi's (look in your history books under "ally")?

How about saving the free world from the Germans and the Japanese? How about that favor, Frenchie? Don't worry, when the entire government of France is run by muslims, we'll remember who ran things along the way to it getting there. Maybe we'll liberate you yet again. Maybe not. Either way, you can be that what every we do, "world opinion" will be against us.

The French president called for enlarging both the permanent and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council to represent "new balances" in the world.

The only thing that needs to be enlarged is his prostate. The French are inconsequential to world affairs more now than ever. They were involved in the oil for food scandal, they sold weapons to Iraq in direct violation of the sanctions imposed by the very organization Chirac wants to lead the world.

The only thing worse than an idiot is a French Socialist idiot. Old Europe. What a joke.
